At what point is the best time to multiclass an Eldritch Knight with Wizard? I limit it to Wizard because the only above 13 stats my character has is str(18)/con(16)/int(16) and he started as EK. He also has a dex/cha 11 so using a asi could change things somewhat. So I'm looking for suggestion please.

Well, it depends how many levels do you have to work with. how long the campaign is going to be.
If it's low to mid levels 5-8, maybe it's best that you do just 1 level fighter and then wizard.
3,6,7,9,10,11 are all nice levels to get with fighter. Do you want more fighting or magic?
As Horwath brought up, what's your overall vision of the character, and what are you hoping to accomplish by multiclassing?
What level are you at now?
Sorry I lost track of this thread until you just posted.
Currently the character is 7 and will be 8 when start back up again. Why thinking of multiclassing? I was looking at up com9ng class features and the EK doesnt have anything good after 10, fighter has some ok stuff by maybe multiclass would be better, go back to his background of apprentice to a wizard.
I would MC at level 6. Bous feat two attacks and it counts as 2 wzard levels for the MC spells per day.
Actually there is no natural level to exit. Fighter and eldritch knight get nice things every level. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 are all good. So just switch whenever you like. You can always switch back. Actually you will delay your high level spells known with wizards. So maybe exiting fighter earlier is better and take more fighter levels later after you get to the desired wizard level... 5, 6 or 7 come to mind. Considering that you are level 7 already you will ve level 12 overall when you finally get level 3 spells. Only one level earlier than when you would normally get level 3 spells known. You will have level 3 slots earlier but that won't give you the real flashy spells.
So if you still plan to be a wizard exiting fighter now at level 7 is the latest level that makes sense if you want to take wizard to be a more powerful spellcaster. If you take wizard for versatility you can always take a short break from your fighter progression.
I was thinking of waiting until 13th to get the 2nd indomitable but not sure.
I'd at least pick up EK 7 for War Magic. If you aren't going Fighter 11, then War Magic and Greenflame Blade is a nice bread and butter. But I do like EK all the way.

If you could gain some saving throw proficiencies I'd definitely multiclass but since you dont I'm not sure.
I would go for EK7 if you fancy using a cantrip like booming blade, thunderclap or swordburst, followed up by a weapon attack as a bonus. Otherwise EK 11 for the 3 attacks. Saying that, you don't need to decide yet. Just start taking wizard levels and see where you end up.
If you do go EK 7 and then take wizard levels consider evoker to enhance your evocation cantrips.
